Best Director vs. Best Picture

This isn't a full post, but rather a follow-up to my comments on the Best Director Oscar: I stumbled across this article at efilmcritic.com that catalogues and critiques all the years where the Picture and Director winners differed. It's an interesting list: what's fascinating in is how often the film that won the Director Oscar is better than the one that won Best Picture.
